Storage Sheds: Lifesavers Or Burdens
In the last few years there has been a huge increase in renting out storage space or sheds. You see them everywhere these days. You know the ones I am talking about. Every town has them because it’s a huge business. They are the long row of storage sheds at the end of town. There are different size spaces and you pay rent - the amount which is determined by the size of the space you are renting.
They are great when you need storage temporarily. I used one when I was moving a few years ago and it was a lifesaver. I was able to organize all my stuff in one place while I was in between living arrangements.
There is downside to renting them.
When I moved into my new house permanently, I began moving a few things at a time out of storage. I thought I would only rent the space for a few months, but a few months turned into almost a year. All those treasured possessions had became a burden each month when I had to pay the bill - especially when I had been living without all the stuff I thought was important.
It makes me wonder, how many “treasures” are costing someone rent each month. How many of you thought you would store things for a short while and it ended up costing you hundred of dollars in rent because a short while turned into months. It becomes such a burden when you know you must move it but it’s easier to pay next months rent. By the time you pay all that rent, you could have bought new things.
Keep life simple and just get rid of the stuff!
