Panama: Declared the #1 Place to Retire - Now at #4
There is no question why International Living has consistently voted Panama as the number one retirement destination in the world.
There are mountains, beaches, shopping, casinos and many other opportunities for a new start or to just have fun and relax.
Did you know…
over 29 percent of Panama’s land is protected to be enjoyed by everyone by National Parks
more different species of birds live in Panama then in North America and Canada combined
Panama’s waters are full of protected coral reefs
The Panama Canal was completed by the United States in 1914
This year, Panama has fallen from the top spot to number four in International Living’s Retirement Index. Why? The government of Panama recently put a 30 day limit on its tourist visa, so it has become more difficult to for anyone to spend any more time then a month. Not impossible just more difficult. We like to spend at least a 3-6 month mini-retirement in another country to really know what it’s like living in a place.
